KINOVINO
a journey into the world of film, food and wine

KinoVino is a cinema-supper club, that brings together some of the best chefs and films from around the world. Each edition offers film screenings and sit-down dinners with unique menus inspired by the films, creating an immersive experience that is shared between an intimate group of guests. Your experience of a KinoVino gathering will always be fresh, surprising and enriching, as each event offers an entirely new film, food and drink and creates a new ambience through carefully and tastefully designed settings and tablescapes. You will immerse yourself in the magic of sharing a meal with a group of friends, old and new, as well as of sharing your emotions as you view a film together. As such, KinoVino is also a journey of self-discovery and transformation, which creates a sense of community and celebrates the beauty of food, wine and film.

KinoVino will present a new digitally mastered copy of Andrei Tarkovsky’s Mirror and the screening will be followed by a dinner curated and cooked by chef Olia Hercules.

Taking inspiration from the film’s central location – a buckwheat field – as well as its key theme of childhood memories, Olia will create an elegant menu that reflects our shared Soviet past. Tarkovsky’s poetic vision will be also reflected in the space, as KinoVino teams up with Cutline Collective to create a nostalgic and delicate setting for the screening and the meal. You will immerse yourself in the unique world of Tarkovsky’s genius and extend your experience of the film with an innovative menu created by one of UK’s most vibrant and talked-about chefs.

About the film

Mirror (Andrei Tarkovsky, USSR, 1974) is an astounding semi-autobiographical filmic composition of a dying man’s recollections, dreams and even thoughts from various moments in his life. Undeniably one of the most innovative and bold films ever made, Mirror is an unprecedented use of the cinematic medium to portray the nature of human memory and how it profoundly speaks on a person’s existence.

About the Chef
Olia Hercules is a Ukrainian London-based chef, food writer and stylist. She is the author of the award-winning cookbook Mamushka and a regular contributor to The Guardian, The Telegraph and Jamie magazine. Named the rising star of 2015 by The Observer, Olia was recently included in the list of 100 most incredible women in the world by The Porter. She leads masterclasses and cooking residencies around the world to great public and critical acclaim.
